Licensing & copyright

Licensing and copyright

Every song on Nova belongs to Loopcode Bilişim Yazılım Mühendislik Eğitim ve Danışmanlık A.Ş. (Lodos Nova). Here is what that means for listeners and businesses.

We own the catalogue

Lodos Nova holds the rights to every recording and composition we stream.

Businesses: licence included

Nova Business ($30 per venue per month) includes the right to play Nova music in public at your venue.

Listeners: personal use

Free accounts are for listening at home and on the go, not for playing to customers.

Who owns the music on Nova

All recordings and compositions in the Nova catalogue are owned by Loopcode Bilişim Yazılım Mühendislik Eğitim ve Danışmanlık A.Ş. (Lodos Nova). We do not stream music licensed from record labels or third-party catalogues.

Because there is a single rights holder, we can grant the licences a business needs directly, at one transparent price.

What the Nova Business licence covers

  • Playing Nova music in public at the venue covered by your subscription, for customers, guests and staff.
  • Unlimited playback, every day, while the subscription is active.
  • All songs in the Nova catalogue, including those added after you subscribe.

What it does not cover

If you need any of these uses, contact us at info@loopcode.co and we will tell you what is possible.

  • Broadcasting on radio or TV, or streaming the music online to the public.
  • Using songs in videos, adverts, films, games or social media posts (synchronisation).
  • Copying, downloading, selling or redistributing the music.
  • Venues that do not have their own subscription.
  • Music that is not from the Nova catalogue.

Collecting societies (MESAM, MSG, GEMA, SACEM, PRS and others)

Collecting societies license music on behalf of the songwriters and labels they represent. Businesses that play commercial radio or mainstream music usually need licences from them.

Music from the Nova catalogue is licensed directly by its owner, Lodos Nova, so no collecting society fee is needed for playing Nova music in your venue. If you also play other music, such as the radio or your own CDs, those licences remain your responsibility.

Personal listening

Free Nova accounts are for personal, non-commercial listening only. Using a personal account to play music in a shop, restaurant, office or any other business is not allowed; please use Nova Business instead.

Proof of licence

Your Nova Business payment receipts show that the venue is subscribed. If an inspector or landlord asks for a written confirmation, email info@loopcode.co with your business name and we will send a licence confirmation letter for your venue.

Copyright questions and claims

If you believe something on Nova infringes your rights, email info@loopcode.co with the link to the content, a description of your work and your contact details. We review every notice and respond promptly.

This page explains how licensing works on Nova in plain language. The Terms of Service and your subscription terms are the binding documents.

Frequently asked questions

Is the music licensed for public playback?
Yes. Loopcode Bilişim Yazılım Mühendislik Eğitim ve Danışmanlık A.Ş. (Lodos Nova) owns all the music in the Nova catalogue and grants your venue the right to play it in public for as long as your subscription is active.
Do I also need to pay a collecting society for Nova music?
No, not for music from the Nova catalogue. Collecting societies license music they represent; Nova music is licensed directly by its owner. If you also play other music, those licences are separate.
Can I use a free Nova account in my shop instead?
No. Free listener accounts are for personal use only. Playing music to customers or staff in a business needs Nova Business.
Can I use Nova songs in my videos or adverts?
Not with a Nova Business or listener account. Using music in videos, adverts or social posts needs a separate synchronisation licence; contact us to discuss it.
